How to come to Mar del Plata

Mar del Plata is a city located 404 km from Buenos Aires.

To get to Mar del Plata from abroad you must fly to Buenos Aires city, arriving at Ezeiza International Airport. From there you have three possibilities:

  1. Taking a shuttle directly from Ezeiza Airport to Mar del Plata with Manuel Tienda León Company.  There are five trips per day. It lasts 5 hours, and costs approximately U$D 50.- round trip. The schedule during March will be:

    From Mar del Plata

Departure Arrival to TBA Arrival to EZE
    01.00 06.00 07.00

    12.00 17.00 18.00
    22.00 03.00 03.40

TBA = Terminal Buenos Aires (Avenida Madero y San Martín)

To make a reservation, you should send an e-mail to mardelplata@tiendaleon.com.ar with the following information: Flight number, Air Company and arrival time (you should obtain a confirmation of the reservation).
You will arrive at Manuel Tienda León Terminal in Mar del Plata; a taxi to the hotel will last 5 minutes and cost U$D 1.-

  2. Flying from Buenos Aires to Mar del Plata. In this case you must change airports at Buenos Aires.  There exists a shuttle (Manuel Tienda León Company, approximately U$D 10.-) from Ezeiza Airport to the domestic flights airport Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. From this airport there are three daily flights to Mar del Plata. You will arrive at Mar del Plata Airport, a taxi to the hotel will last 20 minutes and cost U$D 4.-
  3. Going directly from Buenos Aires to Mar del Plata by bus.  The trip is approximately six hours long, it costs approximately U$D 32.- round trip.  There are many companies and a good frequency of trips.  In this case you can also take the mentioned shuttle (Manuel Tienda León Company) to go from Ezeiza Airport to Retiro, and then take a taxi to the Retiro Bus Terminal. We mention two possibilities, with the corresponding schedules: You will arrive at the Bus Terminal in Mar del Plata; a taxi to the hotel will last 10 minutes and cost U$D 1,5.-

The Argentinian currency is the peso. US dollars are usually accepted to pay taxis, restaurants, etc., instead of pesos.

During March, summer is ending in Argentina.  The weather near the beach is quite variable, probably cool at night.
